Environmental,
social and
governance
Why is ESG important to Zanaga?
At our core, we have a long-term commitment to responsible mining, environmental stewardship and meaningful economic contribution to the Republic of Congo and our surrounding communities. By maintaining the highest standards of governance, we seek to deliver lasting value for our stakeholders and play a vital role in the global transition toward a stronger, more sustainable iron and steel sector.
We believe that our long term success is conditional on prioritising health and safety, robust environmental management, and the welfare of all workers. We commit to making meaningful contributions to the development and well-being of the communities where we operate, recognising the importance of continuous engagement and support.
Sustainability is a key pillar of the corporate strategy
Responsibly mined. Globally valued. Driving development from the earth to industry.
In everything that we do, we operate in a socially responsible manner. Our licence to operate is not taken for granted; access to finance, ability to attract and retain the right employees, and ability to maintain good relations with all stakeholders are closely connected to how we conduct and manage the business.
By maintaining open dialogue with our stakeholders, we aim to ensure transparency and build trust, while aligning our operations with responsible and sustainable practices.
We recognise mining impacts people and the environment and believe proper management can create positive outcomes.
We commit to delivering a net-positive legacy by integrating ecological considerations into all phases – design, construction, operation, decommissioning, and closure – while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
By delivering a responsibly-sourced premium high-grade iron ore product, we aim to support humanity’s growth and help build the future – from expanding cities and domestic infrastructure to advancing new technologies.
