Bulk sampling campaign gathers momentum at the Zanaga Project
Zanaga Iron, through its 100%-owned operating company MPD Congo, has been progressing with its bulk sampling campaign at the Zanaga Project.
The bulk sampling programme, which commenced in July 2026, will see 100 one-tonne composite samples assembled from the hematite zone planned for Stage 1’s 12Mtpa operations phase. The samples will support metallurgical test work and pilot-scale validation of Zanaga’s revised DRI processing flowsheet, including concentrate specification characterisation and customer testing.
Importantly, this is the first major equipment mobilisation at the site since 2014, highlighting the growing momentum behind the Zanaga Project, and marking a significant milestone in the advancement towards FEED completion and eventual mine construction.
The newly assembled project team are making fantastic progress, underpinned by strong training initiatives and a commitment to robust regulatory and environmental oversight.
